The AT&amp;T Work Platform lets business customers add AT&amp;T data, voice, and messaging services to their employees\u2019 personally-owned devices and keep personal service charges separate from corporate charges. This separation will help businesses overcome some of the administrative challenges to adopting Bring Your Own D[evice (BYOD) programs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re changing the way businesses buy mobility today by extending access to AT&amp;T data, voice and messaging services,&#8221; said\u00a0Sundhar Annamalai, executive director, Advance Mobility Solutions, AT&amp;T. &#8220;It&#8217;s increasingly important to provide rate plans that satisfy both the needs of the enterprise and their employees. The AT&amp;T Work Platform combined with MobileIron makes it easy for businesses of any size to say &#8216;yes&#8217; to BYOD.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The platform allows companies to shift from a stipend reimbursement to a data plan allowance that reflects anticipated business usage. The AT&amp;T Work Platform lets employees separate business and personal voice calls by making work-related phone calls over the platform rather than the employee&#8217;s wireless carrier.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recent California Case Law<br \/>\n<\/strong>In 2014, the\u00a0California\u00a0Court of Appeals ruled that an employer must reimburse a &#8220;reasonable&#8221; portion of a\u00a0California\u00a0employee&#8217;s personal cell phone bill if the employer requires the employee to use his or her personal cell phone for work purposes.\u00a0 However, the court did not provide clear guidance on what constitutes a &#8220;reasonable portion.&#8221; This has left many BYOD employers uncertain as to how to comply with the court&#8217;s ruling.\u00a0 By enabling the identification and separation of work usage from personal usage, AT&amp;T Work offers one approach to resolving this uncertainty.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are proud that AT&amp;T chose to work with MobileIron for the launch of the AT&amp;T Work Platform,&#8221; said\u00a0Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron. &#8220;MobileIron and AT&amp;T have had a long and successful relationship bringing industry-leading innovation to customers who want to use mobile technology to transform their businesses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>About MobileIron<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>MobileIron provides the foundation for companies around the world to transform into Mobile First organizations.
