The company, based in Dublin, says this\u00a0data decreases operating costs and increases your bottom line. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/verizon-to-buy-fleetmatics-for-2-4-billion-1470055429\" target=\"_blank\">Wall Street Journal,<\/a> Fleetmatics <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">opened on the New York Stock Exchange<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> at $22.95 just four years ago. The newspaper claims the company was intriguing to investors given that its cloud-computing model made adoption easy for small and medium sized businesses. With about 737,000 subscribers, the company employs 1,200 people. And they have a local office, right in Waltham, Mass.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/08\/01\/verizon-buys-fleetmatics-for-2-4b-in-cash-to-step-up-in-telematics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tech Crunch<\/a>, \u201cThe deal will make Fleetmatics a part of Verizon Telematics, a subsidiary of the telco that focuses on fleet management, mobile workforce solutions and IoT.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This deal comes after<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Verizon just closed their <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">acquisition<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> of mobile enterprise management software company Telogis Inc., plus purchased Yahoo! <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for $4.8 billion; which gives the company a chance to gain a large amount of revenue in the mobile advertising space. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But the purchase of Fleetmatics seems to be another step Verizon is taking to gain more popularity in enterprise mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"widget\"><div class=\"aside-card\">\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\"><p><a class=\"speedbump-1\" href=\"https:\/\/solutionsreview.com\/mobile-device-management\/buyers-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1682\" title=\"MDM Buyer's Guide\" src=\"https:\/\/solutionsreview.com\/mobile-device-management\/files\/2019\/02\/mobility-bg-speedbump.jpg\" alt=\"Download Link to MDM Buyer's Guide\" width=\"800\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>News just broke that Verizon is acquiring Fleetmatics, a GPS verhicle-tracking company, for billions in their effort to push enterprise mobility.
