Telstra has been working to focus more on enterprise mobility, and this move will allow the telco to expand its end-to-end device management services for enterprise customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">According to the company\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telstra.com.au\/aboutus\/media\/media-releases\/telstra-to-expand-enterprise-mobility-footprint-by-acquiring-msc-mobility.xml\" target=\"_blank\">release<\/a>, \u201cMSC\u2019s core capability is its Enterprise Mobility Management platform which incorporates mobile device management software such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.air-watch.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Airwatch<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobileiron.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">MobileIron<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the release, Executive Director of Global Products Michelle Bendschneider, called the deal an investment that\u2019s \u201ccapturing the fastest growing segment of the enterprise mobility market: managing the supply of apps, content and mobile services to enterprises.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">She went on to say, \u201cTo achieve our growth aspirations in Enterprise Mobility, we need to develop our customer relationships from a holistic mobility view, rather than just what sits on their device or tablet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With this acquisition, Telstra can now manage a customer\u2019s enterprise mobility offerings through one unified platform. Plus, MSC\u2019s platform allows them to grow globally, as they can now support Asia, Europe and the US.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">With a staff of about 100, MSC is a founding member of the Global Enterprise Mobility Alliance and was named the Enterprise Mobility Managed Service Provider of the year in Australia by Frost and Sullivan last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And while\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Telstra is Australia\u2019s leading telecommunications and information services company, they <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">made headlines earlier this year when an outage in Victoria caused a disruption for several businesses, including the National Australia Bank and Melbourne\u2019s public transport system. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/telstra-strengthens-enterprise-mobility-offering-with-msc-mobility-acquisition\/\" target=\"_blank\">ZDNet<\/a> reported that the outage meant online services were unavailable for more than six hours.
