The pair hopes to help organizations configure third-party apps on their Samsung devices more quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tachyon was already a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pr.com\/press-release\/603284\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">partner of Samsung\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2016\/10\/27\/samsung-acquires-tachyon-to-extend-enterprise-mobile-device-management\/\" target=\"_blank\">TechCrunch<\/a>. However, now that this deal is closed, the startup tech will only be used on Samsung devices, even though it was originally built to work across all Android devices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Tachyon is a game changer for organizations with large or complex mobile deployments,&#8221; Samsung&#8217;s Vice President of Global Mobile B2B team Jongshin Kim told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darkreading.com\/mobile\/samsung-acquires-tachyon-enterprise-mobile-device-configuration-and-deployment-software\/d\/d-id\/1327315\" target=\"_blank\">DarkReading.com<\/a>. &#8220;Samsung is expected to officially relaunch Tachyon as part of the Knox portfolio after integrating it with the Knox security platform.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tachyon was created as part of a larger enterprise mobility solutions startup, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kaprica.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kaprica<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, but Samsung is not interested in purchasing it, TechCrunch reported.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Samsung and Kaprica both say that Samsung will take over various parts of the business including managing the Tachyon employees, technology and customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Samsung was already providing its enterprise customers with mobile device management solutions, both through its Knox mobile security service and others. However, there have been several security vulnerabilities reported regarding Knox and Taychon offers more features and ease of use.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Enterprise customers using\u00a0Tachyon for Samsung\u00a0mobile will now see:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Faster\u00a0speeds<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tighter security<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reduced risk<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\">Decrease in costs<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Customization<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ease of\u00a0use<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Infrastructure flexibility<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a TechCrunch article, Tachyon\u2019s technology was compared to Apple\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/business\/dep\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Device Enrollment Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The dollar amount of the acquisition has not been disclosed. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After taking a big hit in the last quarter, Samsung made a decision to acquire a startup in hopes to enhance its mobile device management offerings.
