\"Top<\/a>Cisco’s Jasper unit has always been used for managing Internet of Things (IoT) devices; however, the platform can now be used with smartphones and tablets.<\/p>\n

Just last week, Cisco\u2019s Jasper unveiled its Control Center for Mobile Enterprise. The company plans to sell its platform to carriers who are already using the company for IoT connectivity management, according to ZDNet. This may have an impact on enterprise mobility management vendors who offer traditional solutions, as Jasper is selling its platform to carriers who already utilize the company for IoT connectivity management. Therefore, organizations can control devices using a telecom portal as opposed to individual software packages.<\/p>\n

Pallavi Vanacharla, head of product marketing for Cisco’s enterprise mobility, IoT, and cloud unit, told ZDNet that Jasper views mobility management from “a connectivity point of view.”<\/p>\n

“The number of IoT devices and connected cars outpaces business mobile phones, but there’s still a big pain point there,” Vanacharla said.<\/p>\n

Cisco maintains that managing mobile devices has been done manually and in reaction to an issue, which increased support costs. Jasper is more proactive and reportedly boasts the following features:<\/p>\n
