We covered what&#8217;s changed since the last report.<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Gartner calls EMM suites the \u201cglue that connects mobile devices to their enterprise infrastructure.\u201d The report states that the following five core EMM technical capabilities help IT organizations perform functions such as provisioning, auditing, support and more:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mobile device management (MDM)<\/li>\n<li>Mobile application management (MAM)<\/li>\n<li>Mobile identity (MI)<\/li>\n<li>Mobile content management (MCM)<\/li>\n<li>Containment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThere are diverse vendor approaches to managing the mobile life cycle, with many focusing on identity and access, content security, and containment. To be classified as an EMM suite, Gartner requires inclusion of MDM, MAM and at least one of the following: MI, MCM or containment technologies. The most advanced suites will include all five technologies,\u201d according to the report.<\/p>\n<div class=\"widget\"><div class=\"aside-card\">\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\"><p><a class=\"speedbump-1\" href=\"https:\/\/solutionsreview.com\/mobile-device-management\/buyers-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1682\" title=\"MDM Buyer's Guide\" src=\"https:\/\/solutionsreview.com\/mobile-device-management\/files\/2019\/02\/mobility-bg-speedbump.jpg\" alt=\"Download Link to MDM Buyer's Guide\" width=\"800\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The latest version of the quadrant only features 13 vendors: VMWare, MobileIron, IBM, BlackBerry, Microsoft, Citrix, Sophos,\u00a0SOTI,\u00a0Ivanti,\u00a0Matrix42, NationSky, Snow Software, and Cisco.<\/p>\n<p>Vendors are included in the report based on the following criteria provided by Gartner:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"bullets-yes\">\n<li><span id=\"a-850689544\" class=\"annotate\">The vendor must have at least $8 million in 2016 EMM revenue.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span id=\"a-1460498211\" class=\"annotate\">There must be at least five new references, with a maximum of 10, from organizations using the EMM product in production, with at least one that has multiple operating systems under management and one with 10,000 or more installed seats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span id=\"a-2066190069\" class=\"annotate\">The vendor must offer EMM support for at least iOS, Android and Windows 10.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span id=\"a-2036850324\" class=\"annotate\">The vendor must provide an EMM suite that contains MDM, MAM and at least one of the following: MI, MCM or containment technologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There were no new kids on the block this year; however, LANDESK has been dubbed Ivanti since its merger with HEAT Software. So, while you haven\u2019t seen Ivanti, you have seen LANDESK on the quadrant before.<\/p>\n<p>VMware AirWatch, MobileIron, BlackBerry, and IBM were all named leaders in the latest version of the report. Citrix was part of the leader\u2019s section last year and fell to the visionary category this year. SAP was the only name to be removed completely from the tech giant\u2019s report as they no longer meet the including criteria.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft was transitioned to the visionary section from the challenger&#8217;s bucket.
