Ivanti is acquiring<\/a> mobile security and management vendor MobileIron to help improve its mobile and endpoint security capabilities. The deal, worth approximately $872 million, will help Ivanti enable a self-healing autonomous edge with adaptive security and contextualized, personalized experiences for remote workers. Ivanti also revealed that it will acquire mobile security provider Pulse Secure; financial terms of that acquisition were not disclosed.<\/p>\n

In the official press release, Ivanti’s CEO Jim Schaper stated: \u201cBy combining MobileIron and Pulse Secure with Ivanti, we are creating a leader in the large and growing unified endpoint management, security, and enterprise service management markets. We now have the most comprehensive set of software solutions that address the growing market demand for the future of work, where working from anywhere on any device type is the new normal. With the integration of our industry knowledge and complementary product offerings, Ivanti will be well-positioned to provide our expansive customer base with the critical tools needed to tackle IT challenges in the new normal.”<\/p>\n

MobileIron offers a unified endpoint management solution that places mobile security as its key focus. The platform is built on MobileIron\u2019s mobile-centric, zero-trust enterprise security framework, which emphasizes authentication and perimeter-less mobile security. This allows administrators to take advantage of security and access management features like zero sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and mobile threat detection. In addition to UEM, MobileIron also offers BYOD security, mobile data protection, and cloud access security solutions.<\/p>\n
