NETSCOUT announced the availability of its 7000 series nGenius Packet Flow Switches (PFS 7000 series), according to a press release on the company’s website. The vendor is also releasing nGenius Decryption Alliance (nDA), NETSCOUT External PowerSafe Tap (EPT), and PFS Monitor — solutions that, according to the company, “enable unified security and visibility to address the growing need for simplified data center security management.” These new hardware solutions compliment recently added improvements to their business delivery service, nGeniusPULSE.

NETSCOUT provides software and hardware solutions for network and application performance monitoring and security management. The NETSCOUT Packet Flow Switches collect, manage, and assess the traffic flows that occur on a network. The vendor designs its network solutions to allow multiple IT groups to see the same network traffic, unifying network visibility across every team.

The PFS 7000 series extends the company’s Open Compute Platform (OCP) based packet brokers, which was introduced in the PFS 5000 series to address service assurance use cases. The improvements NETSCOUT added to PFS 7000 include supporting uninterrupted active and passive operations. NETSCOUT also updated nDA to enable inspection of SSL/TLS encrypted traffic to be used by security and service assurance tools

Richard Kenedi, President of NETSCOUT’s Core Markets Business unit, stated: “As bad actors hijack weaker encryption or piggyback on legitimate SSL sessions, NetOps and SecOps teams need greater visibility into events happening across different systems and domains. These products enable streamline monitoring and reduce risk through greater visibility across the network.”
