Corvil Network Security Analytics has announced that they’ve joined the Splunk Adaptive Response Initiative, which is a multi-vendor security intelligence initiative that launches coordinated threat responses in order to protect security architectures.<\/p>\n

Announced at .conf2017, the initiative hopes to provide a flexible framework that enables customers to “interact with data, extract and share new insights, gather more context, and invoke actions across key security and IT domains.” The initiative arose out of the desire to provide both continuous monitoring, and threat analysis of network user activity throughout a business’ software architecture. Within this multi-vendor solution, Splunk brings together both security and performance domain vendors such as Cisco, Algosec, Phantom, and Tanium\u00a0in order to improve threat detection, investigation, and elimination, all in the hopes that network performance maintains peak productivity.<\/p>\n

Because network performance is a technological cornerstone for IT departments, “it is critical that organizations continuously monitor and analyze the behaviors of application communications and users to take rapid action where required,” as said by Chief Business Development Officer of Corvil David Murray. These days, an individual solution cannot singlehandedly monitor both performance and security analytics because of the ever-evolving threats to network security. The initiative seeks to use multiple vendors to “efficiently and flexibly combat advanced attacks with their security architectures,” as said by Senior Vice President and GM of Security Markets at Splunk Haiyan Song.<\/p>\n

Threat detection and network performance monitoring are two essential components of any network monitoring solution, a thought which helped Splunk bring together over 34 industry-leading security companies since 2016. A conglomerate of vendors that utilizes advanced OSI models in order to maintain security upkeep and increase productivity, much like the Adaptive Response Initiative, will most certainly result in a powerful,\u00a0analytics-driven system that efficiently works for its users.<\/p>\n
