Enterprise technology giant Cisco has announced intent to acquire cloud access security broker CloudLock for $293m USD.

CloudLock Inc. specializes in cloud access security broker technology that provides enterprises with visibility and analytics around user behavior and sensitive data in cloud services, including SaaS, IaaS and PaaS. Recently, Cisco, a software solution provider whose software suite makes it easier for organizations to adopt, and extend the use of enterprise cloud, recently announced intent to acquire Cloudlock. The acquisition will further enhance Cisco’s security portfolio and build on Cisco’s ‘Security Everywhere’ strategy, aimed at providing protection ‘from the cloud to the network to the endpoint’.

Customers benefit from Cloudlock’s cloud adoption by implementing the kind of security that protects businesses from today’s growing cyber threats. Cloudlock’s CASB technology allows customers to monitor user behavior and interaction with sensitive data in the cloud application, providing greater threat protection.

“As companies are migrating to the cloud, they need a technology partner that can accelerate that transition and deliver critical security capabilities for all their users, apps and data in a seamless way,” said Rob Salvagno, vice president of Cisco Corporate Development. “CloudLock brings a unique cloud-native, platform and API-based approach to cloud security which allows them to build powerful security solutions that are easy to deploy and simple to manage.”

The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal year 2017. Read more about the acquisition and what it means for Cloudlock teams, at Cloudlock.com
