Rapid7 <\/i><\/b>recently announced<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/a> its purchase and acquisition of IntSights, a contextualized external threat intelligence and proactive threat remediation provider, for $335 million.\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Rapid7 offers an extensive cybersecurity portfolio for businesses, including user analytics behavior analytics, SIEM, SOAR, and vulnerability management. Additionally, it offers managed security services and security consulting. Meanwhile, IntSights provides the full benefits of external threat intelligence to businesses of all sizes. It offers integration of real-time cyber threat intelligence with existing security infrastructure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Rapid7 plans to combine its own threat intelligence and customer environment knowledge with IntSights\u2019 external threat intelligence capabilities. According to a press release, \u201cthis combination is intended to provide customers with a unified view into threats, attack surface monitoring, relevant insights, and proactive threat mitigation for organizations of any size or level of security maturity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Corey Thomas, chairman and CEO of Rapid7, gave a statement on the purchase of IntSights. \u201cCybersecurity is a lopsided battle today and the odds consistently favor attackers. Both IntSights and Rapid7 have a shared belief that organizations will succeed only when they have a unified view of internal and external threats, complete with contextualized intelligence and automated threat mitigation which will allow security teams to focus on the most critical threats.
