Top 11 Best Talent Management Suites from Constellation Research ShortList Report

Constellation Research, a technology research and advisory company that focuses on helping organizations build new business models with exponential and disruptive technology, has released their Q1 2018 Constellation ShortList report of Talent Management Suites.

The ShortList presents vendors in different categories of the market relevant to early adopters. In addition, products included in the report meet the threshold criteria (see below) for this category as determined by Constellation Research.

The company defines talent management suites as software that focuses on the strategic aspects of Human Capital Management (HCM). In other words, these suites help Chief Human Resources Officers (CHRO) with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning, succession planning, and compensation management.

To be considered for the Constellation ShortList reports, vendors must provide the following criteria for talent management solutions: talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, compensation management, succession planning, ongoing learning management, and analytics and reporting.

Key HCM business processes include planning to sourcing, acquiring to on-boarding, assessing to developing, and performing to rewarding. These processes reflect the four pillars of talent management:

1. recruitment
2. performance management
3. learning and development
4. compensation management

According to report author, Ray Wang, the shift from individual best-of-breed solutions to integrated talent management suites and a part of the HCM core vendor capabilities has come with market consolidation over the past decade. Today’s solutions break through the functional fiefdoms of HR and bring together modern user experiences paired with the latest cloud delivery models.

The Talent Management Suites ShortList report evaluates over 35 solutions categorized in the talent management market. It is determined by client inquiries, partner conversations, customer references, vendor selection projects, market share, and internal research. Vendors must have three or more of the criteria to qualify.

The solution providers included in Q1 2018 Constellation ShortList for Talent Management Suites are the following, in alphabetical order: ADP Talent Management, Cegid Technomedia, Ceridian, Cornerstone OnDemand, IBM Kenexa, Infor, Lumesse, Oracle, PeopleFluent, SAP SuccessFactors and Ultimate Software.

Although not permanent, as each Constellation ShortList evaluation is updated every 180 days as needed.
