Several evolving capabilities, like cloud, mobile and the Internet of Things (IoT) are helping guide the continuing HR and talent management evolution. There are several key areas where these capabilities can be leveraged in the upcoming HR era.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Recently, IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) and Smarter Workforce Institute (SWI) released a report into Cognitive HR functions titled, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www-935.ibm.com\/services\/us\/gbs\/thoughtleadership\/cognitivehrstudy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Extending Expertise: How cognitive computing is transforming HR and the employee experience.&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><div class=\"widget\"><div class=\"aside-card\">\t\t\t<div class=\"textwidget\"><p><a class=\"speedbump-1\" href=\"https:\/\/solutionsreview.com\/talent-management\/free-talent-management-buyers-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1682\" title=\"Talent Management Buyer's Guide\" src=\"https:\/\/solutionsreview.com\/talent-management\/files\/2019\/02\/tm-bg-speedbump.jpg\" alt=\"Download Link to Talent Management Buyer's Guide\" width=\"800\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This report highlights how cognitive technologies are likely to impact HR functions and transform talent management. According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www-03.ibm.com\/press\/us\/en\/pressrelease\/51962.wss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IBM press release<\/a>, HR executives are already recognizing the impacts of cognitive technology, as more than 65 percent of CEO&#8217;s surveyed believe that cognitive technology will drive significant value in HR and talent management, while more than 50 percent of HR executives believe that cognitive computing will affect the key roles of HR departments in organizations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The IBV \/ SWI report found that within the HR field, there are three specific areas in position to take full advantage of cognitive technology&#8217;s unique capabilities, including talent acquisition, onboarding, talent development and HR operations. Additionally, employees are ready to embrace cognitive computing in many workforce activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There are key areas where cognitive solutions will have the most impact, IBM reports. These areas include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Information-rich, and highly complex decisions, requiring a wide variety of inputs from different data sources.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Frequent and varied interactions by users, where large volumes of request must be interpreted and addressed.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">High volume of unstructured data involved &#8211; such as free-form text and images.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">Customized and personalized output to address the individual needs of a global and diverse workforce.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Cognitive solutions not only offer huge benefits for HR, they also improve the employee&#8217;s experience,&#8221; said Bob Schultz, General Manager, IBM Talent Management Solutions. &#8220;Imagine candidates having career paths recommended &#8211; paths aligned to their goals and skills at the touch of a button.
