I have presented the results of these analyses in my <a href=\"https:\/\/datacrossroads.nl\/books\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" class=\"external\">books<\/a>\u00a0and a series of articles. The series \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/datacrossroads.nl\/articles\/article-series\/data-management-data-governance-101\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" class=\"external\">Data Management &amp; Governance 101\u201d<\/a> and \u201cDAMA-DMBOK2 vs. DCAM2.2\u201d explored the differences in how these concepts are defined across different industry guidelines. The \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/datacrossroads.nl\/articles\/article-series\/dama-dmbok2-vs-dcam\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" class=\"external\">Choosing Data Management IT Tools<\/a>\u201d series highlighted mismatches in how various IT vendors define data governance and management.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This month, I delivered a workshop at the DG&amp;IQ and AIGOV conference in Washington, hosted by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dataversity.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" class=\"external\">Dataversity<\/a>, where I once again encountered significant differences in participants\u2019 interpretations of data governance and management. Several years ago, I worked to align these definitions within our community. However, I have realized that achieving this goal is a \u201cmission impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a result, I now focus on raising awareness within the data management community by showcasing these varying perspectives.
