Cisco is intending<\/a> to acquire outdoor wireless Ethernet radio network and solutions provider Fluidmesh Networks, according to a press release on the company’s website. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Cisco’s fiscal year 2020, subject to customary closing conditions and required regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n

With wireless technology playing a greater role in every organization\u2019s multi-access IoT strategy, reliable wireless connectivity is paramount to organizations operating Industrial IoT environments, whether that\u2019s manufacturing, mining, rail, or ports, where wireless technology automates operations to improve safety and lower costs. The acquisition of Fluidmesh strengthens Cisco\u2019s offerings in this space with leading technology that\u2019s designed to provide zero loss of data transfer at speeds in excess of 300 Km\/h.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cisco plans to use Fluidmesh’s technologies to boost its wireless and industrial Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Fluidmesh\u2019s technologies can provide zero loss of data transfer at speeds in excess of 300 Km\/h. Under the terms of the acquisition, the Fluidmesh team will join Cisco’s IoT business.<\/p>\n
