Analyst house Gartner, Inc. has released its newest research highlighting four emerging solution providers that data and analytics leaders should consider as compliments to their existing architectures. Cool Vendors in Analytics, 2019 features information on startups that offer some disruptive capability or opportunity not common to the marketplace. Gartner analysts James Richardson, Rita Sallam, Julian Sun, and Gareth Herschel compiled the materials for this report.

DataStories features a powerful computational engine and a workflow which automatically applies self-adjusting machine learning algorithms without user intervention. The platform also touts predictive modeling capabilities that tackle regression and classification issues.


Tellius is a search and AI-powered business analytics platform that enables users to ask questions and receive answers in natural language and automatically discover insights across multiple data sources. The platform features search and voice-driven conversational analytics, automated discovery, customizable ML modeling, and instant response from billions of records. The Tellius Genius Insights Engine also helps users to understand why something has changed, as well as get answers to questions you didn’t ask by analyzing a combination of data points.


ZENOPTICS offers a solution for self-service BI governance that utilizes existing investments in BI and data analytics. The tool enables secure, end-user access in a portal-like environment that facilitates access to reports and dashboards that have been built with different tools. ZENOPTICS requires no special training and surfaces reports and dashboards in their native user experience. Onboarding of content is a simple process as well. Users can also take advantage of proprietary machine learning to recommend or suggest reports based on consumption patterns of other users.
