The Time Zones Welcome Box Zones, an International Data Storage Tool

Known for its freemium business model to provide cloud storage and file hosting for businesses, Box announced it’s new solution, Box Zones, which will leverage Amazon Web Service, and IBM’s Cloud capabilities to offer enterprises the ability to store data across Europe and Asia- something that for most businesses will break down old barriers that limited international collaboration. Box Zones will help businesses centralize critical content and enhance productivity, while addressing local data storage requirements. Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box explains why for many enterprises, this is a very big deal.

According to Business Wire, more than 57,000 businesses, including 59% of the Fortune 500 rely on Box for secure content management and collaboration. Box is known for providing customers with transparent logging and audit trails, strong security features including layered encryption, granular authorizations, and the ability to integrate with other security solutions via, enterprise mobility management partnerships. Terry Wise, Vice President of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services, Inc., explained that Box Zones will not sacrifice its reputation for quality, as it offers businesses secure international collaboration.

“With the recent launch of Box KeySafe running on AWS, Box offers companies of all sizes greater control over their business-critical, sensitive content, and furthers that mission with today’s introduction of Box Zones.”

Box Zones is scheduled to be available next month for an additional fee and leverages Amazon S3 on AWS Regions in Germany, Ireland, Japan and Singapore. Box Zones is also scheduled to be available via IBM Cloud in Europe and Asia later this year for an additional fee.
