Aerospike Database 8: Native Dynamic Data Masking for Real-Time PII Protection
Aerospike Database 8 now includes native Dynamic Data Masking (DDM), enabled by default, to mask PII at the database layer for all users and machine identities except those explicitly granted privileges. This removes the need for app-layer masking logic or external tokenization services, simplifying compliance while preserving Aerospike’s low-latency behavior for AI and transactional workloads where regulated data must be accessed safely in real time.

Cisco expands AgenticOps across networking, security, and observability
Cisco is rolling out its AgenticOps model—autonomous, guardrailed AI operations—across campus, branch, industrial, data center, and service provider domains, adding agentic capabilities to platforms such as Catalyst, Meraki, Nexus One, XDR, and Crosswork AI. New features include early detection and prescriptive remediation for data center networks (controlled availability June 2026) and cross-domain, multi-vendor event correlation in service provider environments, pushing operations toward autonomous, outcome-driven workflows.

Cloudera Extends AI Inference and Unified Data Access Deeper Into the Data Center
Cloudera has expanded Cloudera AI Inference, Cloudera Data Warehouse with Trino, and Cloudera Data Visualization to on-premises environments so customers can run AI and analytics next to their most sensitive data rather than exporting it to public cloud. The updates streamline SSO-based admin, unify access across cloud, edge, and data center, and aim to give enterprises more control, security, and performance for AI workloads that must stay close to regulated or latency-sensitive data.

HPE: Only 5% Are Ready for the “Great Virtualization Reset”
New HPE research shows more than two-thirds of enterprises plan significant changes to their virtualization strategy within two years, but only 5% say they are fully ready, underscoring a major execution gap. While licensing costs are a factor, fewer than 1 in 10 cite them as the primary driver; instead, the shift is driven by AI readiness, performance, and the need for a more flexible hybrid operating model, with budget constraints, complexity, migration risk, and skills gaps slowing progress.

Immuta–Teradata: Policy-Driven Access Control for VantageCloud and VantageCore
Immuta now integrates with Teradata VantageCloud and VantageCore so data teams can register Teradata views in Immuta and have Immuta’s subscription policies automatically enforced as grants and revokes on those views. This lets organizations define fine-grained, role- and attribute-based access once in Immuta and apply it consistently across Teradata and other platforms, reducing manual admin overhead while keeping access auditable and aligned with central IAM.

JumpCloud: The AI Maturity Illusion—Most Orgs Lack a Safe Scaling Foundation
JumpCloud’s Q1 2026 IT Trends Report finds 40% of IT leaders self-assess as AI-mature, yet only 22% meet rigorous criteria for AI readiness, leaving 78% without the foundational identity, access, and infrastructure needed to scale safely. While 90% see productivity gains from AI, 74% remain worried about security risks, and the report warns that fragmented identity and access controls—especially as shadow AI and autonomous agents proliferate—make it impossible to secure AI without first unifying IT.

Snorkel: Closing the Evaluation Gap in Agentic AI With Open Benchmarks
Snorkel argues that our ability to build agentic AI has outpaced our ability to reliably measure it, creating an “evaluation gap” that public leaderboards alone cannot fix. Through a $3 million Open Benchmarks Grants initiative and new work on long-horizon tasks, world-modeling, non-stationary environments, and multi-artifact outputs, Snorkel calls for benchmarks that better mirror real-world agent workloads and nuanced rubrics that assess correctness, robustness, and human uplift—not just single-step accuracy.

Thought Leaders: Who is Sitting in My Seat, Said the CDO/CAIO? by Samir Sharma
It’s time we stop wasting our most strategically valuable leaders on tactical work. The CDO and CAIO roles were never meant to be permanent platform buyers, program managers, or glorified data plumbers. Yet too many organizations have anchored them there heads down in tooling decisions while the business asks why AI pilots never translate into value.
Thought Leaders: Rise of the Meta Catalog: Integrating Metadata for AI Innovation by Kevin Petrie
The data catalog is like a restaurant menu: it organizes food for AI. But the meta catalog is like DoorDash because it aggregates menus to expand choice and reach. AI adopters now embrace this concept. They combine catalogs into meta catalogs that organize wide-ranging metadata across the enterprise, expanding options and enriching inputs for AI projects. This blog explores new primary research about this trend and assesses the implications for AI innovation.
