Zaloni recently announced the release of its newest Zaloni Data Platform. The solution features an intuitive Data Marketplace that allows users to “shop” and “check out” datasets for provisioning to a sandbox environment for analytics. In addition, the Data Platform enables users to find relevant data and procure it for use in other projects or environments. It also includes enhancements to improve reliability and data recovery.

Zaloni’s newest innovation is unique because it provides governed, self-service access to data for discovery, curation, and preparation. The product’s familiar “Shopping Cart” experience meas that once data is checked out, the jobs may be monitored, managed, and scheduled in a manner that provides IT with governance and oversight. Data can also be provisioned to relational database or a sandbox area in the data lake.

New data catalog functionality includes an improved user interface for searching and viewing metadata, as well as understanding data quality. The user experience streamlines user data discovery and provisioning for data analytics. Users can see consolidated metadata about a data asset, including ingestion history, lineage, data profile, and a data preview sample for a transparent view of data assets. There’s also role-based permissions to provide specific user access to change or update business names, descriptions, and tag data for additional classification and search.

Zaloni was named to multiple analyst reports in recent months, including CRN’s Big Data 100, the Constellation ShortList for Data Lake Management, and Red Herring’s Top 100 North America. Solutions Review also included the vendor amongst its Data Lake Tools Vendors to Watch last March.
