Bitdefender Enhances Malware Detection and Privacy Offerings
Bitdefender is expanding its malware detection capabilities and consumer privacy offerings, according to a press release on the company’s website. Its consumer product portfolio has been updated with advanced malware detection capabilities for mobile devices. Bitdefender has also expanded its privacy offerings with new virtual private network features.
Bitdefender released the new GravityZone Ultra Suite and announced a more services-focused approach, starting with its Bitdefender Advanced Threat Intelligence. It appeared in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms as a Niche Player and in the Forrester Wave for Endpoint Security Suites as a Strong Performer. The GravityZone Ultra solution includes an integrated EDR platform and a monitored EDR solution.
The company is introducing a new root cause analysis feature for its Windows-based security solutions to deliver deep-level analysis on attacks. Bitdefender VPN also now includes a kill switch to disconnect devices when VPN connections are lost. The VPN solution also now includes split tunneling to let low-risk or resource-intensive apps to bypass the VPN tunnel.
In the company’s press release, Bitdefender Consumer Solutions’ vice president Ciprian Istrate stated: “Our recent survey that explored consumer attitudes towards cybersecurity threats revealed sixty percent of internet users have faced at least one cyber threat in the past year yet many still shun security solutions, especially on the devices they use the most online. As threats continue to become more frequent and sophisticated, it is critical cybersecurity solutions keep pace. Our enhanced detection and privacy capabilities help ensure consumers have the best protection available whether on their laptop, mobile or IoT smart home device.”
