Virginia M. (Ginni) Rometty, IBM
Virginia M. (Ginni) Rometty serves as Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of IBM; therefore she also serves as one of the coolest identity governance CEOs of 2019. In fact, under her leadership, IBM became one of the major players in modern cybersecurity. Ms. Rometty began her career with IBM in 1981, holding several leadership positions before becoming CEO in 2012. Moreover, Ms. Rometty holds a Bachelor’s of Science from NorthWestern. She also co-chairs the Aspen Institute’s Cyber Group and serves on the Council on Foreign Relations.
James Litton, Identity Automation
James Litton founded identity governance provider Identity Automation and serves as its CEO. Therefore, Mr. Litton leads the development and execution of Identity Automation’s growth strategy with more than 27 years of experience. Additionally, Mr. Litton guided Identity Automation as it transitioned from a software to a pure-play subscription software product company. Before founding Identity Automation, Mr. Litton served as the Head of IT for Cray, a global supercomputing company. Also, Mr. Litton has held executive leadership positions at Symantec Software, Veritas, and Coca-Cola.
Morten Boel Sigurdsson, Omada
Morten Boel Sigurdsson stands as one of the coolest identity governance CEOs of 2019 through his leadership of Omada. Additionally, he founded Omada in 2000. Previously, he co-founded and led media company Forbrugerliv as CEO. Mr. Sigurdsson also served as Senior Consultant and Project Manager for SAP and as Superintendent Engineer for A.P. Moller Maersk. Also, he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark. Mr. Sigurdsson often works with the Danish Ministry for IT and Science and for Economics and Business.
Jeff Hawn, Quest (One Identity)
As Quest’s Chairman and CEO, and thus One Identity’s CEO, Jeff Hawn leads the provider’s identity security product vision and decision-making; therefore he guides One Identity’s identity governance development and market positioning. Before becoming CEO of Quest, Mr. Hawn served as Chairman and CEO of Vertafore. Previous to that, he ran the Attachmate Group—another identity software provider—as chairman and CEO. Mr. Hawn received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Safra A. Catz and Mark Hurd, Oracle
Oracle boasts not one but two CEOs, who have co-run the identity governance provider since 2014. Both served as Presidents of Oracle before becoming CEOs. Together, they manage the corporate direction and strategy for Oracle.
Safra A. Catz has served as a member of the company’s board of directors since 2001. She also served as the company’s chief financial officer. Prior to being named president, Ms.Catz held various other positions since starting at Oracle in 1999. Additionally, she currently serves as a director of The Walt Disney Company and previously served as a director of HSBC Holdings.
Mark Hurd also serves as a member of the company’s board of directors. Andre Durand, Ping Identity
Andre Durand is the CEO and Founder of Ping Identity. He brings with him a lifetime of experience in enterprise technology. He founded Durand Communications in 1993 and Jabber in 2000; Cisco bought the latter in 2008. Since entering the identity management and security space in 2002 with Ping, Mr. Durand has significantly contributed to the identity market. For example, he founded and chairs the identity industry conference Identiverse—which is now in its 10th year. Mr. Durand holds a BA in Biology and Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Mark McClain, SailPoint
Mark McClain leads SailPoint as CEO and Co-Founder. As such, he stands as one of the coolest identity governance CEOs of 2019. In his prior roles, he founded Waveset Technologies. After its acquisition in 2003 by Sun Microsystems, where Mr. McClain served as Vice President of software marketing. Mr.McClain’s career also includes diverse experience in international sales and marketing with Hewlett-Packard and IBM/Tivoli Systems. Sachin Nayyar, Saviynt
