Cloudera Connects with SAP for Analytics and Business Intelligence Advantages

In a recent GlobeNewswire press release, Cloudera, an enterprise analytics data management company, whose flagship product is powered by Hadoop announced a partnership with SAP. The goal of this partnership for Cloudera is to offer enterprises solutions to handle Big Data’s burden on data management and analytics. Cloudera achieves this by offering connectors that integrate with SAP Hana and SAP Business Objects to join distributed data sources which has always been a major challenger for business across many industries.
In addition many companies face the challenge of collecting and finding value from such large amounts of data both structured and unstructured. The opportunity for Cloudera to solve these challenges is very real as they are powered in the back-end by Hadoop.

“Customers recognize the challenges and opportunities associated with capturing and generating value from the unprecedented volume of structured and unstructured data that’s flowing into the enterprise,” said Tim Stevens, vice president, Business and Corporate Development at Cloudera. “An enterprise data hub provides organizations the ability to integrate Hadoop into their existing BI and analytics environments to enable them to innovate and derive critical business insights without compromise. Through our connectors for SAP HANA and SAP BusinessObjects BI solutions, we will help enable customers to leverage data in ways they never thought to before.”
With this partnership, Cloudera clients can now benefit from SAP solutions with their enterprise hub and connectors to do data exploration and advanced streaming analytics. Partnering with a solution like SAP has been a trend over the last year as companies strategically work on leveraging the power of SAP’s product offerings. Has SAP become the outright leader in business intelligence and analytics? I think so, regardless if Gartner does not agree.
