Analytics and Data Science News for the Week of February 13, 2026

Alteryx Research: Trust and Data Quality Are the Biggest Barriers to Scaling AI Pilots

New Alteryx research finds that fewer than one in four AI pilots make it into production, with trust and data quality emerging as the main blockers despite rising AI budgets. Only 28% of leaders trust AI to support decision-making and 27% for forecasting, while 49% cite high-quality, accessible, governed data as the top requirement for agentic AI—prompting many to focus on governed data, clear metrics, and workflows that blend deterministic rules with generative AI.

Planview Connected Work Graph: AI agents that see dependencies before they break delivery

Planview has launched Connected Work Graph, an AI-powered dependency intelligence layer that maps how objectives, initiatives, teams, and resources connect across an enterprise and uses intelligent agents to analyze millions of work relationships in real time. The system surfaces hidden cross-team dependencies, critical path risks, and bottlenecks before they impact delivery and recommends actions—turning static status reporting into a continuously running advisory layer for strategic decisions in product, project, and portfolio work.

Power BI: Legacy Excel/CSV Import Experience Retires in 2026

Microsoft is deprecating the old Excel and CSV import experience in the Power BI service (the legacy option on the Create page), with creation blocked after May 31, 2026, and refresh for existing models disabled after July 31, 2026. Excel and CSV remain fully supported as data sources via the current connectors and Power BI Desktop, but any reports built on the legacy import path must be recreated using modern connectors if you need ongoing refresh rather than static, stale data.

Insight Jam is Getting Set to Host Donald Farmer for the Expert Briefing: The Last Mile to AI & Why Analytics Leadership Matters on March 19

While AI can generate insights at unprecedented speed and scale, it cannot verify those insights against business reality, interpret them within organizational context, or take accountability when decisions go wrong.
