Qlik recently announced the release of its new Associative Big Data Index. Available later this month, the solution makes the company’s associative experience available on top of very large data sources, enabling users to search big data repositories. The Associative Engine is governed and can be deployed within big data repositories, eliminating the need to prepare and transfer data before it can be analyzed.
Qlik’s newest big data solution continuously provides an up-to-date view of the data by indexing immediate updates along data source updates. It enables users to utilize Docker containers and practice agnosticism from being tied to a single big data repository or related strategy. Additionally, the tool distributes processing across a cluster in an attempt at maximizing performance using Kubernetes.
Qlik also unveiled the latest release of its Podium Data product featuring a new catalog module and intelligent rules engine. Building off of its July acquisition of Podium Data, the Podium smart catalog now provides richer search and data drill-down capabilities. The release also offers new operational, quality and popularity data metics within the smart data catalog to give users an Amazon-like shopping experience when searching, browsing, previewing and choosing information from the data marketplace.
Capabilities acquired from Podium Data are helping to expand the Qlik’s data management features and provide additional data governance. Podium Data will also become a launch point for a new data hub offering that encompasses data storage, data preparation and metadata gathering.
Qlik offers a broad spectrum of BI and analytics tools, which is headlined by the company’s flagship offering, Qlik Sense. The solution allows organizations to combine all their data sources into a single view. The in-memory engine and associative analytics indexes every possible relationship to data, and the platform is available on-prem or in the cloud. The company’s product portfolio is rounded out by its flagship analytics platform (embedded and custom tools), and Qlik View, its data discovery solution.
