Fog computing or fog networking, aka, fogging, is a type of architecture that utilizes one or more end-user clients or near-user edge devices to store data, as opposed to storing it all in the cloud data centers. Similar to Cloud, Fog provides data, compute, storage, and application services to end-users. For a better understanding of how Fog computing works, check out this presentation by Dell, “Foggy Future, the Rise a of Fog Computing over Cloud”.
