Turbonomic: Public Cloud Optimization and Multi-Cloud Are Top Initiatives

According to a recent survey by Turbonomic, public cloud optimization and creating a multi-cloud strategy are the top IT initiatives of 2021. This information comes from the 2021 State of Multicloud report, which surveyed 800 global IT professionals on the current state of multi-cloud adoption. The report revealed how companies are leveraging current cloud solutions and preparing for the future of multi-cloud.

Our MSP Buyer’s Guide contains profiles on the top managed cloud service providers for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as questions you should ask vendors and yourself before buying. We also offer an MSP Vendor Map that outlines those vendors in a Venn diagram to make it easy for you to select potential providers.

When conducting the survey, Turbonomic interviewed IT professionals on important initiatives that their company was moving forward with through 2021. The survey found that 25 percent of companies listed public cloud optimization as the most important initiative to seek through the year. Advancing a multi-cloud strategy came in second, with 21 percent listing it as the most critical initiative.

Regarding how far companies have come with their multi-cloud strategy, only 30 percent of organizations are using three or more clouds at one time. 83 percent of organizations are using at least one cloud managed service, showing how much companies care about getting their cloud adoption and integration right. However, complexity continues to be the biggest challenge for companies, indicating that cultural change is a prerequisite for successful transformation.

In the company’s press release, Turbonomic’s Chief Marketing Officer Tom Murphy stated: “We are particularly encouraged to see public cloud optimization and advancing a multi-cloud strategy as the top priorities for organizations this year. We have had the privilege of helping many customers with both initiatives and we look forward to helping more.”
