Collibra has announced the launch of Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud, a new platform for providing users with a streamlined means of accessing trusted data. The product automates data workflows and provides visibility into an organization’s data ecosystem. It is built on a cloud-native platform with cloud performance optimization to scale resources, a microservices architecture, edge computing, and self-service data access to enable responsive analysis. The news comes on the heels of Collibra’s January release of Collibra Lineage.
The Collibra Platform is made up of five distinct solutions. Headlined by an enterprise data catalog called Collibra Catalog, the platform also includes Collibra Governance, Collibra Privacy & Risk, Collibra Lineage, and now Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud. Collibra documents an organization’s technical metadata and how it is used. It describes the structure of a piece of data, its relationship to other data, and its origin, format, and use. The solution serves as a searchable repository for users who need to understand how and where data is stored and how it can be used.
Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud includes a new feature called Data scoring. A new component of Collibra Data Catalog, the capability automatically computes a measure of data quality at the attribute level. Individual rights management (Collibra Data Privacy) manages individual data requests so privacy leaders can work within compliance requirements. There is also enhanced support for popular business intelligence platforms and ETL data integration tools in Collibra Lineage, as well as expanded connectivity for metadata ingestion from data sources like data lakes and data warehouses.
In a statement to Solutions Review, the company’s Chief Product Officer Jim Cushman told us: “We developed Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud because we know that traditional data management tools are inadequate at helping organizations quickly capture value from their data – in short, they keep organizations in a constant state of “data anarchy” with costly manual data discovery, lack of shared understanding around data, and complicated improvement and management.”
