Emerging Technology and Project Specialist of Appalachia Intermediate Unit 08

Matt Karabinos is an emerging technology and project specialist at Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 in central Pennsylvania, where he supports rural and semi-rural school districts across Blair, Cambria, Somerset, and Bedford counties. He works with districts on AI policy and guidance development, professional learning for teachers and administrators, and student STEM and academic competition programs, and he participates in statewide AI workgroups in Pennsylvania. He moved into the role from the classroom in November 2025.
