These additions will extend the platform’s trust layer—the connected layer of governance, security, recovery, and backup controls that sit across an organization’s data—to agentic AI, new enterprise applications, and new multi-cloud infrastructure. Additionally, AvePoint is extending its data protection coverage to additional applications and cloud resources, using a unified framework that spans M365, Power Platform, and now enterprise applications.

Forcepoint Launches the AI Data Security Platform

Forcepoint, a global cybersecurity company, has launched AI Data Security, a cloud platform that integrates oversight and protection, following sensitive data across autonomous agents, shadow AI, and sanctioned AI applications. The platform’s new capabilities aim to address the full arc of AI data security, including discovery, classification, control, guardrails, and governance. Those capabilities include an AI Agent Gateway, data loss prevention for AI, confidential file protection, AI Detection and Response (AIDR), AI-powered discovery and classification, single-console AI oversight, and more.

Okta Updates Its Okta for AI Agents Suite

Okta, a global identity security company, has introduced new updates to Okta for AI Agents. The additions will help organizations secure agent connections to enterprise tools and other agents at runtime, while also governing these connections over time. For example, with the new features, Agent Gateway and Agent-to-Agent Connections, organizations can enforce precise controls and policies at the exact moment an agent tries to access sensitive data or hand off a task to another agent. Okta also released Resource Access Certifications for AI Agents, which will maintain appropriate access by reviewing and right-sizing permissions.

ThreatDown Expands Its AI and Identity Security Capabilities

ThreatDown, a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) company, has announced a synchronized expansion of its AI and identity security capabilities to protect organizations from emerging, unmanaged risks. The additions include AI visibility into an organization’s AI footprint and an extension of Identity Threat Detection and Response to service accounts, API tokens, OAuth credentials, and machine identities. That added visibility will help security and MSP teams to surface and mitigate hidden AI vulnerabilities before they escalate into breaches, while the additional access for Identity Threat Detection and Response makes it easier for teams to gain visibility into non-human identities.
