Okta Strengthens Leadership with Executive Appointments

Okta, Inc., a leader in identity security solutions, announced this week three new executive appointments on its go to market team. Eric Kelleher has been promoted to President, Customer Experience & Communications, Ed Daly has been promoted to Chief Customer Officer (CCO), and Christine Halvorsen has joined Okta as the company’s first Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Public Sector. They follow the recent appointments of Jon Addison as Chief Revenue Officer and Kerry Ok as Chief Marketing Officer.

Exabeam Adds Generative AI Assistance to SOC Platform

Exabeam, a global cybersecurity leader, announced this week two pioneering cybersecurity features, Threat Center and Exabeam Copilot, to its Exabeam Security Operations Platform. Threat Center is a unified workbench for threat detection, investigation, and response (TDIR) that simplifies and centralizes security analyst workflows, while Exabeam Copilot uses generative AI to help analysts quickly understand active threats and offers best practices for rapid response. Lookout Report: “CryptoChameleon: New Phishing Tactics Exhibited in FCC-Targeted Attack

Lookout recently discovered an advanced phishing kit exhibiting novel tactics to target cryptocurrency platforms as well as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) via mobile devices. Following the tactics of groups like Scattered Spider, this kit enables attackers to build carbon copies of single sign-on (SSO) pages, then use a combination of email, SMS, and voice phishing to trick the target into sharing usernames, passwords, password reset URLs and even photo IDs from hundreds of victims, mostly in the United States. Lookout first flagged this phishing kit when their automated analysis discovered a suspicious new domain registration that matched a common format used by Scattered Spider, as mentioned in a recent warning by CISA. The domain in question was fcc-okta[.]com, which is only a single character different from the legitimate FCC Okta Single Sign On (SSO) page.
