IT news and analysis outlet CRN recently released its 2020 Emerging Vendors list, a ranking of emerging technology vendors that solution providers should be aware of. Though the list is aimed at highlighting software vendors for the purposes of solution provider partnering, Solutions Review is most interesting in highlighting the vendors from that offer unique products and platforms for enterprise organizations. As such, we’ve read through the complete CRN rankings, available here, to analyze the emerging IoT vendors we think matter most.

The vendor offers Eclipse ioFrog, a solution for edge-aware Kubernetes microservices that also features a one-line install and a custom command line tool, iofogctl.
FogHorn offers a unique edge-native AI solution that delivers transformational business results. Its edge intelligence IoT platform brings advanced analytics and machine learning to on-premise edge environments. The vendors provides capabilities for monitoring, diagnostics, performance optimization, proactive maintenance, and operational intelligence. FogHorn Lightning Mobile delivers operational technology and field professionals with real-time analytics, machine learning and AI for mobile and battery-powered devices.
The Medigate platform is an IoT management solution designed to help protect clinical networks and manage healthcare-related devices. The solution automatically discovers and precisely identifies every connected device on your clinical network. Medigate’s platform understands medical device protocols, existing and potential cyber threats, and expected device behavior. It then minimizes the device attack surface through clinical microsegmentation and tailored security policies.
Ockam’s IoT platform helps IT administrators build connected systems that are trustworthy and safe for business operations. Ockam allows users to send end-to-end encrypted messages through their connected system, establish authenticated channels between endpoints regardless of transports or route, and create and manage security protocols for IoT devices. These protocols include cryptographic keys, unique device identifiers, and verifiable credentials.

The vendor’s IoT Gateways solution turn operational data into business value, using connected sensors and cameras to take information from the field and consolidate it into one, unified view.
ZEDEDA is a cloud-based IoT edge orchestration solution that delivers visibility, control and security for the distributed edge, with the freedom of deploying and managing any app (virtual machines, Kubernetes and Docker) on any hardware at scale and connecting to any cloud or on-premises systems. Customers can deploy virtual machines and containers for legacy and cloud-native apps to any hardware or cloud environment.
