Fastly Names Kip Compton as Chief Product Officer

Fastly, Inc., a leader in global edge cloud platforms, this week announced the addition of Kip Compton as Chief Product Officer, effective January 2, 2024. Compton will report to Fastly CEO Todd Nightingale. Compton brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience driving innovation in cloud, video, Internet of Things (IoT) and networking. He has a long and proven track record of growing teams and businesses, including creating partnerships and investments to drive growth and open new markets. Most recently, Compton served as the senior vice president of strategy of the Cisco Networking business at Cisco where he led teams responsible for strategy, portfolio management, investments and acquisitions. Compton also holds multiple patents in digital video, security and networking.

Ingram Micro Announces Launch of Xvantage Mobile Application

Ingram Micro Inc. this week announced the formal launch and availability of the Ingram Micro Xvantage Mobile App throughout Canada, India, and the U.S. Designed with feedback from Ingram Micro’s SMB Alliance and Trust X Alliance community members, the Ingram Micro Xvantage Mobile App is receiving high marks for experience and performance. Current reviews include five-star ratings and mentions of “ease of use and real-time visibility to quotes, orders, and product search,” as well as “the ability to take business critical actions such as converting a quote to order anywhere, anytime.”

AWS Launches Second Infrastructure Region in Canada

Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com, Inc. company, this week announced the launch of its second AWS infrastructure Region in Canada— the AWS Canada West (Calgary) Region. Starting today, developers, startups, entrepreneurs, and enterprises, as well as government, education, and nonprofit organizations, will have greater choice for running their applications and serving end users from AWS data centers located in Canada. Customers will also have access to advanced AWS technologies, including data analytics, security, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI), to drive innovation. AWS also released a new economic impact study highlighting that the company is planning to invest an estimated $17.9 billion (approximately CA $24.8 billion) in Canada through 2037 via the new AWS Canada West (Calgary) Region and the existing AWS Canada (Central) Region in Quebec.
