Forrester Maps Which Technology Markets Will Gain Or Lose From AI Disruption

Forrester has introduced an AI Disruption Model spanning 17 categories and more than 200 technology and service markets, helping providers determine whether AI will accelerate, transform, disrupt, or have limited impact on their businesses. The research identifies infrastructure; data and AI platforms, management, and governance; and cybersecurity and identity as the clearest growth categories, while labor-intensive services such as implementation, software development, creative work, localization, and training face the greatest substitution risk.

Gartner Warns Agentic AI Workflows Could Drive Inference Costs Up More Than Fivefold

Gartner projects that inference costs per agentic AI workflow will rise by more than five times through 2028, even as token prices decline. The firm’s warning is that multistep reasoning, tool use, and increasingly capable models will consume substantially more compute than basic chatbot interactions, making cost governance, inference tiering, usage limits, and workflow monitoring central to agentic AI economics.

The Modern Data Company Survey Finds AI Agent Rollouts Are Outpacing Enterprise Data Readiness

The Modern Data Company’s interim survey of more than 540 data leaders found that 57.3% of organizations are piloting or operating AI agents, yet only 8.4% say the data feeding those systems is sufficiently trustworthy for production. Data quality and trust, missing context and lineage, and security ranked well above skills and tooling as barriers to deployment, reinforcing the need for governed context layers, traceability, and clear accountability before agents can act reliably across enterprise systems.

NeuBird Proposes Graduated Trust Model For Autonomous Agents in Production

NeuBird AI has published the open Earned Autonomy Framework, which sets out four levels of agent permissions—from read-only recommendations and human-gated actions to policy-bounded remediation and earned autonomous operations. The framework calls for agents to gain write access only through verified performance, while retaining least-privilege controls, VPC containment, circuit breakers, automatic rollback, and immutable audit trails for production operations.

EdTech Series: We Didn’t Name the Problem: Employers Did by America Succeeds’ Tim Taylor

Before the pandemic, America Succeeds was already tracking a shift in what employers were asking for. The economy was moving fast. Job descriptions were evolving faster than curricula. The skills that determined whether someone thrived in a role were changing, but the systems designed to develop those skills were not keeping pace. We called it the “Age of Agility,” and we were trying to understand what it would take for education to respond.

EdTech Series: The Direction Gap: AI Made Learning Content Cheap by Marco Kohn

In June 2026, The Conference Board reported that 68.9 percent of US workers are satisfied with their jobs. That is the highest reading in the survey’s 39-year history, up from 68.3 percent a year earlier and a long climb out of the 42.6 percent low of 2010. It is good news, and for anyone evaluating learning technology it is close to useless. A satisfaction rate counts heads. It says nothing about what the other three in 10 need, whether more training would help them, or whether the platform you are about to sign for addresses any of it.
