EdTech Series:  How Schools Build Durable Skills by America Succeeds’ Michael J. Crawford

Every company can name the durable skills it wants: communication, judgment, collaboration, the ability to solve a problem no one has seen before. Naming them is easy. Building them is the hard part, and most organizations, like most schools, never quite crack it. That is a design problem, not a knowledge problem. And it is solvable. The proof comes from an unlikely place, and the blueprint is more portable than you would guess.

EdTech Series: The Shift From AI That Answers to AI That Teaches by Ashish Bansal

In 2026, the reliability bar is finally being crossed. Reasoning models can now work through a math problem step by step and be right consistently, not just sound confident. At the same time, the cost of that intelligence has dropped significantly. Put those two things together, and for the first time we have the opportunity to give every student a personal teacher that is both accurate and affordable at scale.

EdTech Series: Stop Letting Educational Tech Grade Itself by Laura Spencer, Ed.D.

Adoption is easy because tools are cheap to pilot, fast to implement, and often included in the bundles of products districts are already paying for. Accountability is hard because it requires breaking two comfortable habits: using physical observation as a substitute for proof, and letting the software grade its own homework.

EdTech Series: Don’t Wait for Your State to Write Your AI Rules by Matthew Karabinos, MAT

Pennsylvania, where I work, has yet to give districts a framework. The Pennsylvania Department of Education keeps a page telling schools to read vendor terms carefully, protect student data, and keep a person in the loop when a tool touches grading or discipline. The advice is sound as far as it goes. It stops short of a framework, and it does not answer the question a principal has on a Tuesday afternoon when a parent accuses a teacher of using AI to grade their student’s work.

EdTech Series: Test What Students Can Do Without the Tool by Meryll Dindin

I run technology at a K-12 teletherapy company that places licensed special-education clinicians with students across 27 states, and I spent this summer reading the research on what artificial intelligence actually does to learning. Both jobs keep returning me to the same question, and it is one I rarely hear asked in a procurement conversation: What can a student do once the software is taken away?

EdTech Series: Stop Teaching AI Tools, Teach the Words First by Andy Hu

Every week another district, university or training provider announces an AI literacy initiative. Most of them are built on the same assumption: students and staff lack skills, so we should teach them tools. Prompt workshops. Tool bake-offs. A certificate at the end.

Contributor Series: The AI Paradox: Perfecting the Balance of AI for Consumers by Kathleen Barrett

The world has gone a little AI crazy. It’s understandable. We have powerful new tools that seem to be getting more and more remarkable by the minute, which handle tasks that used to take hours, days, or weeks to accomplish and flips them around in a few seconds. There’s no doubt that AI has given us demonstrable efficiency gains, but there’s also a glaring downside: The endless blather. The noise.

Editors Lens: Zero-Click Search Isn’t New But AI Made it Permanent by William Jepma

I answer engines didn’t introduce zero-click behavior, but they are making it the default. Optimizing for AI answer/search engine ingestion is one of the hottest trends right now, and with good reason. Businesses are building their visibility strategies around being cited by these AI answer engines, which is contributing to the dominance of zero-click search and will only further its growth in the coming months and years.

We Didn’t Build Solutions Review for AI, We Built it for Buyers by Tim King

A nuclear bomb has been exploded in not only digital marketing, but enterprise tech buying. Buyers increasingly discover information through AI search and their favorite GenAI bot, social media platforms like LinkedIn, and synthesized answers rather than lists of blue links. Visibility still matters, but the question is evolving from “Can you rank?” to “Can you be anchored as trusted a source?”
