Solutions Review Set to Host Planview for Exclusive Spotlight Show “AI-Powered Portfolio Management: Turn Strategy into Business Value” on November 25

Reporting on delivery is the foundation, not the destination. Strategy-to-outcome transparency is the next horizon: a trusted, connected view of which outcomes your investment serves, what is committed, what is deliverable and what value is being realised. AI is now making it practical, taking manual effort out of planning, forecasting and reporting so portfolio teams can spend their time steering rather than collating.

EdTech Series: How Do Students Advance When AI Does the Entry-Level Work? by Amanda Kavner, PhD

I’ve been watching this problem come into focus from two directions at once, because I’m both a cognitive neuroscientist who studies how people build expertise and someone who runs production autonomous AI systems in my own work. It isn’t hypothetical for me, since I hit it every time I design a workflow and every time a student submits something that tells me they reached the answer without doing the thinking.

EdTech Series: When Opting Out Means Giving Up the Tool by Elite Academic Academy’s Laura Spencer, Ed.D.

The CliffsNotes version: Gemini, Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Classroom, and Google Search will all start off for K-12 student accounts until an administrator turns them on. The part drawing attention is Search. In reporting from The New York Times, Google’s VP of education, Chris Phillips, explained that Search and AI are now so integrated that a school restricting AI completely will lose Search as well. Students would see a message that it isn’t available.

EdTech Series: Chaos is a Ladder: Media Literacy in an Age of Unlimited Fake News by Northwestern University in Qatar’s Spencer Striker

As a production professor who builds games and interactive media, I wanted players to understand disinformation from the operator’s side of the desk. You encounter a news event, choose an attack, and watch how it serves your client. Your goal is to get Teddy elected. Nobody in the game sets out to damage public trust, but every attack does, and the player experiences that damage firsthand. That is the lesson.

EdTech Series: 4 Questions to Ask Before Putting an AI Tool in Front of a Child by PebbleYard’s Shammika Munugoda

A trial published in PNAS last year gave nearly 1,000 high school math students access to GPT-4 while they practiced. Their practice scores jumped 48%. Then the researchers took the AI away and set the same exam for everyone. The students who’d had it scored 17% lower than students who never touched it.

EdTech Series: What’s Working with AI in Higher Ed by Ithaca College’s Diane Gayeski

Today’s young people don’t learn that way, nor is it an appropriate strategy to help them do more than memorize facts that will likely be outdated by the time they graduate. Additionally, almost a quarter of my students have some sort of accommodation for a learning disability—typical of all classrooms, even at the most elite universities. Coming up with multiple ways to provide information and to practice their learning is essential.

Claude Adds Native OpenTelemetry Export To Databricks MLflow For Agent Debugging

Claude Platform’s native OpenTelemetry export is now in public beta, with Databricks MLflow as a supported destination for traces from Anthropic SDKs, the Messages API, and Claude Managed Agents. Zerobus ingests execution spans into Unity Catalog tables, giving teams governed access to model calls, tool activity, timing, and errors. Developers can investigate failures, collect expert feedback, and compare revisions against the same evaluation cases. MLflow Issues, also in beta, identifies recurring problems such as redundant searches and failed tool calls; capturing request and response content requires explicit opt-in.

CloudBolt Applies Existing Infrastructure Policies To AI Agents At Execution Time

CloudBolt has added generally available agent-governance capabilities to its cloud management platform, tying agent actions to named user identities through OAuth rather than broadly privileged shared accounts. Agents inherit existing permissions, approved catalogs, budgets, quotas, and approval workflows, while administrators decide which actions they can access. Every action is checked when it executes, regardless of the model or prompt, and session records connect tool calls and infrastructure orders to a user and conversation.

Confluent Introduces Streamhouse Architecture And Live Query Layer For Enterprise AI

Confluent has introduced its Streamhouse architecture, combining streaming, connectivity, processing, governance, and querying to give agents and applications a continuously updated view of business operations. Lightning Tables, now generally available on AWS, materializes Kafka data into a read-only serving layer with SQL and API access, reducing the need for separate databases or caches. The architecture complements existing warehouses and lakehouses, while Tableflow serves analytical systems and Real-Time Context Engine supplies agents through MCP.

Menlo Ventures Estimates Enterprise AI Spending Reached $177 Billion As Agent Usage Surges

Menlo Ventures estimates enterprise AI deployment spending reached $176.8 billion by September 2026, up 5.4 times from $33 billion in 2025. Its report combines a survey of nearly 400 U.S. decision-makers with bottom-up market modeling, finding that spending growth substantially outpaced the increase in paying adopters. Agents accounted for 80% of tokens on OpenRouter—a platform-specific measure, not the whole market—while 55% of incremental spending came from new budgets, suggesting expansion rather than wholesale replacement of existing software.

PhoenixAI Launches Contextbase To Unify Agent Knowledge, Memory, And Evaluation

PhoenixAI has launched Contextbase, an infrastructure layer that stores business semantics, knowledge, agent memory, execution traces, and evaluations in one governed system. Built into the PhoenixAI database, it places context alongside business data so agents can query both under shared permissions, rather than assemble information from separate tools. Linked, versioned records connect business definitions and prior learning with evidence of what each run did.

TrueFoundry Extends Okta Workforce Access Policies To AI Agents

TrueFoundry has added support for Okta’s Cross App Access protocol, letting agents connecting through its AI Gateway operate under existing workforce identity policies. Instead of static API keys with broad, persistent privileges, agents receive short-lived tokens tied to an active user identity and scoped to specific tasks, with revocation and logged grants for auditing. The integration is available through the Okta Integration Network, while Cross App Access through Agent SSO is included in Okta workforce SSO plans at no additional cost.
