Arctera Separates from Veritas Technologies

Cohesity Combines with Veritas’ Enterprise Data Protection

With the completion of this combination, Cohesity now offers the broadest workload support and one of the largest partner ecosystems in the data protection industry.
CrashPlan Drops New Work Trend Security Report
CrashPlan’s 2024 Work Trend Security Report, based on a survey of over 2,300 U.S. workers, revealed that respondents who said they always back up their work data reported the highest levels of employee satisfaction and engagement. Those reporting the lowest levels of employee engagement were also most likely to admit to a range of risky data security practices.
Infinidat Serves Japanese e-Com Giant ELTEX
Headquartered in Yokohama, Japan, ELTEX uses the InfiniBox solution to store e-commerce-related products and services data as well as end-user transaction data for each of its customers. This is mission-critical to its core business in the development and implementation of eltexDC, a packaged system integrating e-commerce and mail-order systems.
MinIO Releases Object Storage and AI Report
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the research is the ubiquity of object storage today. Respondents indicated that 70 percent of the enterprise’s data was in object storage today and it was expected to grow to 75 percent over the next two years. The reason for the growth was AI. “Support AI” was the most popular reason why IT leaders are adopting object storage at their organization. Performance and scalability rounded out the top three.
ORNL Announces New Data Transfer Tool
After decades of service, HPSS is set to be decommissioned in early 2025, and users are working to migrate their data before the Jan. 31 deadline. As the HPC Storage Systems team prepared for the mass exodus earlier this year, Wynne recognized the need for a new tool to facilitate the process.

SIOS LifeKeeper for Linux earned SAP certification by successfully completing rigorous qualification procedures. These procedures, based on SAP-approved integration technologies, confirmed the software’s reliability and stability within each supported SAP environment.
StorMagic Announces SvHCI Version 2.0
SvHCI 2.0 will be generally available for purchase in the next 90 days. Pricing begins at $2,049 for a one-year subscription for a single server and up to 2 TB of storage. Also launching today is the SvHCI Global Beta Program for VM Snapshots, where customers and partners can get early access to the software and test on their own servers.
Vultr Partners with AMD, Broadcom & Juniper Networks
This news comes on the heels of Vultr’s extended collaboration with AMD to make the new AMD Instinct MI300X accelerators and ROCm open software available within Vultr’s composable cloud infrastructure. Collaborating with Broadcom and Juniper is the next step in creating an open ecosystem, powered by ROCm, to unlock new frontiers of GPU-accelerated workloads from the data center to the edge.
Zerto Drops New Cloud Vault Solution through MSPs
With Zerto Cloud Vault, customers can leverage MSPs that deliver tailored cyber resilience strategies to meet the specific requirements of their organizations. Cloud Vault is the latest offering in HPE’s comprehensive cyber resilience portfolio and complements the existing Zerto Cyber Resilience Vault, which is deployed as a self-hosted, on-premises stack.
