Astera Labs Designs Compute-Agnostic AI Racks Around PCIe Fabrics And Shared Memory
Astera Labs has introduced Orion, a modular rack-scale reference architecture that lets customers choose their CPUs and accelerators while pooling eight to 160 accelerators over a PCIe Gen 6 fabric. Six validated designs span rack, compute, fabric, and memory components, with CXL-attached memory targeting long-context inference’s KV-cache demands. Partner availability through Accton Technology and Hyve Solutions begins in Q1 2027; Futurum notes that rack-level performance and efficiency benchmarks remain unpublished, leaving Orion’s economic advantage to be demonstrated.

Commvault Adds Threat Hunting And Sensitive-Data Discovery To Microsoft 365 Backups
Commvault has announced Threat Scan and Data Posture 360 for Microsoft 365, helping organizations locate sensitive information, uncover threats in protected Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams data, and identify clean recovery points. Teams can apply current threat intelligence to historical immutable backups to detect threats missed when the data was originally protected. Early-access previews are planned in the coming weeks, with general availability targeted for early 2027 as independently purchasable, paid add-ons to Commvault Backup & Recovery for Microsoft 365.

LogicMonitor Centralizes Agent Inventory And Access Controls For Production IT Operations
LogicMonitor has introduced Agent Studio for Edwin AI, giving administrators a centralized interface to view agents, understand their roles, enable or disable them, and control access to approved Model Context Protocol tools. Futurum’s coverage highlights the distinction between an agent’s capabilities and its operational authority: investigating an incident and executing remediation require different permissions.

IBM Storage Ceph Keeps Hot Metadata On Faster Media To Improve Cluster Performance
IBM has updated Storage Ceph with a BlueFS Spillover Cleaner that automatically promotes frequently accessed RocksDB metadata onto faster SSD or NVMe database devices while placing less-active data on lower-cost storage. The tiering manager aims to improve metadata access and deliver more consistent cluster performance and lower latency. Additional enhancements cover NVMe/TCP gateway administration, S3 object discovery and bulk management, dashboard-based virtual-host configuration, and CephFS subvolume quarantine following ransomware or malicious filesystem tampering.

VAST Data And DigitalOcean Unify Storage, Search, And Context For AI Agents
VAST Data and DigitalOcean have expanded their partnership to deploy the VAST AI Operating System within DigitalOcean’s AI-Native Cloud. The collaboration supports Agent Data Services, a managed layer where agents read enterprise context and write back what they learn, with documents, images, video, logs, and traces indexed as they arrive. A tenant-isolated catalog governs agent read and write permissions, while integrated storage, database, and vector-search capabilities reduce the need to assemble separate vector databases and ETL pipelines.

Veeam Connects Microsoft 365 Agent Visibility, Data Governance, And Precision Recovery
Veeam has made Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365 generally available as an add-on to Veeam Data Cloud, connecting production data and backup context through its DataAI Command Graph. Teams can discover AI agents, identify sensitive-data exposure and redundant content, and trace file-level changes to recover precisely what was affected. The service connects without data migration or re-architecture; Veeam also opened private previews for Veeam Data Platform and Okta, extending contextual visibility and recovery to infrastructure and identity systems.

Editor’s Lens: The Cybersecurity Landscape in 2026: AI Became the Foundation by William Jepma
That shift is the single most important thing to understand about the 2026 cybersecurity landscape, and it is easy to miss because it did not occur as a single event. No breach, product launch, or acquisition marked the line. The change was structural, and structural changes announce themselves slowly. By the time most organizations register that the floor has moved, they have usually been standing on it for a while.

Join Anthony Cusimano, Chief Evangelist at Object First, as he looks at what happens after a breach. Using real-world examples and new research, Anthony will show how far a single attack can reach across an organization, what regulators and cyber insurers now expect from recovery, and the toll attacks take on the IT teams who have to respond.

Recent developments are also showing how difficult that activity can be to control. This month, OpenAI disclosed that an internal research agent found a gap in its sandbox controls and reached an external chatbot despite restrictions on internet access. Anthropic separately reported malicious actors using agent swarms to divide and execute reconnaissance and post-exploitation tasks in parallel. For CISOs, these developments reinforce a challenge that is already taking shape.

We Didn’t Build Solutions Review for AI, We Built it for Buyers by Tim King
A nuclear bomb has been exploded in not only digital marketing, but enterprise tech buying. Buyers increasingly discover information through AI search and their favorite GenAI bot, social media platforms like LinkedIn, and synthesized answers rather than lists of blue links. Visibility still matters, but the question is evolving from “Can you rank?” to “Can you be anchored as trusted a source?”
Insight Jam’s Mesh Lab Episode 5 Now Available: Human-Centered Environments
The conversation shifts beyond standard pedagogy to address the existential crisis facing students and workers as AI disrupts traditional ideas of productivity and purpose. Panelists emphasize the urgent need to stop measuring final outputs and instead focus on the creative, collaborative process of learning. Ultimately, the group argues that to foster uniquely human skills like adaptability in students, educators must first be granted the autonomy to exercise those exact same skills.
