GoodData has announced new investment and a strategic partnership with Visa, which follows up on the company’s release of the GoodData LDM Modeler a week prior. According to GoodData CEO Roman Stanek, the investment will enable The San Francisco-based vendor to increase its focus on self-service data analytics, user interfaces and data visualizations. The GoodData LDM Modeler brings new features to data modeling when starting a new data product or extending existing enterprise reporting.
The GoodData platform provides creation, delivery, and automated management of analytics at scale that allows organizations to deliver insights to customers, partners and other users. GoodData is designed to support any analytical product roadmap, and enables customers to offer their partners any data source, visualization, interaction pattern or integration they need. The tool offers analytics and expertise to operationalize intelligent decisions within business applications and business processes.
The web-based LDM modeler compliments GoodData’s recently released data source management interface. When integrated together within the GoodData interface, users gain the benefits of a single tool and can create data products faster. Both solutions support GoodData’s semantic layer and its ability to simplify the complexity of data and make it more understandable to end-users. LDM modeler simplifies the understanding of data semantics that may be beneficial to users with lower data literacy.
GoodData’s semantic layer features a shared data model that allows business analysts in different entities to get consistent results wherever they are. The data model lets you work with augmented analytics by suggesting next steps for analytical projects. GoodData LDM modeler touts a drag-and-drop experience to data analysts as well. An additional benefit of the recent release is the guidance GoodData provides when modeling the output source from the company’s cloud data warehouse. GoodData suggests the data structure according to the data model and vice versa.
