MicroStrategy today announced the release of MicroStrategy 2020, the newest release of the company’s flagship data analytics platform. The product features HyperIntelligence, a new technology invented by MicroStrategy that provides insights with zero clicks. Now available for Chrome, Edge (beta), and Outlook, HyperIntelligence supports a more broad range of use cases with design and performance upgrades as well. Through this capability, MicroStrategy 2020 provides contextual insight via new apps for iOS and Android that work on any device. The announcement was made at MicroStrategy World 2020, going on now in Orlando.
MicroStrategy provides an extensive library of native analytical functions and scoring algorithms, along with an SDK to integrate with 3rd-party and open source statistical and data mining products. Users can also utilize historical data, create real-time forecasts, and take advantage of more than 300 OLAP, mathematical, financial, and data mining functions. MicroStrategy provides out-of-the-box gateways and native drivers that connect to any enterprise resource, including databases, mobile device management (MDM) systems, enterprise directories, cloud applications and physical access control systems.
The new version includes updated Dossier functionality via a new free-form canvas that users can leverage to create interactive designs, compound grids for data representation, custom-shaped geographies for mapping visualizations, dossier-to-dossier linking, and the integration for surveys to collect user insights from inside the product. There are two new connectors to Jupyter and RStudio that enable expert users (data scientists) to bring governed data from MicroStrategy 2020 into their predictive analytics projects using R and Python. It also delivers major enhancements to data source connectivity, including support for 17 new cloud applications as well.
MicroStrategy Cloud now makes it easier for administrators to deploy the platform on AWS or Microsoft Azure. The release also includes support for Microsoft Intune via AppConfig for both MicroStrategy Mobile and MicroStrategy Library Workstation. Companies can provision the MicroStrategy Cloud Platform on Azure environments in new regions, including Central Canada, Southeast Asia, Australia Southeast, North Europe, West Europe, Central US, West US, West US 2, and East US.
In a statement to Solutions Review about the news, MicroStrategy’s Vice President and CTO Tim Lang told us: “We believe MicroStrategy 2020 delivers modern analytics experiences to the enterprise, with insights reaching business users regardless of their technical expertise. One of the most exciting things about MicroStrategy’s new platform are the expanded capabilities of HyperIntelligence. Business users can now take well-informed, immediate action directly from the popular business applications they use every day.”
