Tableau Announces Subscription Pricing on All Products

Tableau announced today new subscription pricing for all of its products. According to the provider of visual analytics: “The new pricing model significantly reduces the initial expense to deploy Tableau’s platform and frequent product updates without purchasing a perpetual software license.” The subscription pricing provides organizations thinking about their platform to better budget and plan deployments that can scale up or down as needs change.

Bloomberg believes the move to a subscription model is Tableau’s way of shaking things up after a tough 2016. Subscription options are definitely being pushed by consumer demand and industry trends, however.

In a statement, Tableau’s new CEO Adam Selipsky spoke to the news: “Many customers have told us they prefer to purchase software through a subscription model to more easily access the products they want, reduce upfront expenses and increase flexibility.”

Pricing for Tableau’s various feature offerings begin start at:

  • Tableau Desktop Personal: $35/month
  • Tableau Desktop Professional: $70/month
  • Tableau Server: $35/month
  • Tableau Online: $42/month

Tableau was named a market leader in Gartner’s recent 2017 Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms.
