The features, which were released at the company’s annual user conference TIBCO Now, are aimed at helping data scientists and engineers running interactive analytics on large data volumes in Google BigQuery and Apache Spark. TIBCO’s product capabilities are expansive, and range from data integration and API management to visual analytics, reporting, and data science. The company’s BI and analytics portfolio comes in two main iterations: TIBCO Spotfire and TIBCO Jaspersoft. TIBCO Spotfire is the company’s more modern platform. It features interactive visualization, data preparation, enterprise-class governance, and advanced analytic capabilities.

TIBCO ComputeDB combines approximate query processing techniques to ensure low-latency interactive analytics for both streaming and stored data. The database also offers memory management and optimizations that aim to delivery real-time capabilities and speeds up to 20 times faster than Apache Spark.

TIBCO is also announcing new capabilities for TIBCO Cloud Integration, TIBCO Cloud Mashery, and TIBCO Cloud Events. The features directly address challenges faced by developers when working with cloud-native applications. Key features include native support for GraphQL, increased application responsiveness, and a new open source tool called Project Flogo.

In a press statement regarding the news, the company’s Vice Preident of Analytics Product Strategy Brad Hopper said: “We continually listen to our customers and what their needs are, focusing on a seamless and highly responsive user experience, even when the datasets are humongous. By leveraging the power of native capabilities, combined with the power of our partners and open-source technologies, TIBCO enables its customers to rapidly adapt to changes and accelerate innovation by analyzing large datasets without sacrificing speed and performance.”
