SIEM solution provider LogRhythm announced they are now a Mimecast Application Programming Interface (API) Alliance Partner, allowing the companies to integrate their respective SIEM and email security solutions. Mimecast is an Email Cloud Security services provider.

Joint customers of LogRhythm and Mimecast can take advantage of automated threat management capabilities, allowing them to disable malicious accounts, quarantine potential phishing emails, and update security policies in their email environment.

According to a statement by Matt Winter, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at LogRhythm: “Most organizations lack centralized visibility across their disparate security solutions and don’t have the ability to automate advanced analytics across data from those and other systems. This makes it difficult to distinguish real threats from false positives… LogRhythm’s integration with Mimecast gives customers the insights they need in a single, centralized view to identify email-borne attacks and other suspicious activity and then enable rapid, efficient response through automation.”

Mark Basler, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Mimecast, said in his own statement: ” Mimecast threat data can now be used to help secure customers’ broader IT environment. This integration is one that our customers have asked for, and the power of the Mime | OS platform allows Mimecast to rapidly expand our security ecosystem. The API enables Mimecast to extend our core Cyber Resilience functionality to customers and partners, enabling them to integrate Mimecast services into existing and new applications.”

Email security is a critical aspect of SIEM threat detection capabilities. Phishing attacks via employee email are a frequent digital attack vector into enterprises’ IT environments.
