Is It Time To Rethink How We Connect Our Data And Apps?
Connections is More than a Game
I play the Connections game in the New York Times daily (and Wordle, too!). It’s a fun distraction and far less stressful than the rest of the Times copy.
Another set of connections that organizations rely on daily are the ones that connect their data sources to their analytics and AI apps.
Adapters, APIs, connectors, ETL scripts, data services, etc.: This critical data integration capability is essential to driving business value from your data. Custom-developed or purchased from various vendors, every organization has thousands running nonstop daily. Running is the keyword because when these connections fail, so do your analytic and AI apps.
While critical, their “set them and forget them” nature can also lull organizations into being passive. Perhaps not the most brilliant move in a world of ever-shifting data sources and consumers, accelerating technology innovation, and dynamic business models.
Is It Time To Rethink How We Connect Our Data And Apps?
Given the changing landscape and the opportunities new technologies and use cases afford, IT leaders must continuously evaluate and improve how their organizations connect their data and applications.
To give you a head start on this initiative, we have brought together four experts on Friday, April 18, 2025, Insight Jam Session: Connections: Fun in the New York Times, Essential for Evolving Analytics and AI Apps.
These experts include Richard Winter, CEO and Principal Architect at WinterCorp, Kaiser Permanente’s Sreekanth Miryala, Denodo‘s Terry Dorsey, and Informatica‘s Amol Dongre.
In this Jam Session, we will address these critical connections strategy questions.
-
How are evolving business models driving new connection strategies?
-
Which technology innovations have the potential to revolutionize how we build and deploy new connections?
-
Why didn’t “putting everything in the cloud” lessen the connections challenge?
-
Can “just connect everything with AI” work? If so, why? If not, why not?
-
What is your best advice to IT groups regarding long-term strategies and immediate actions?
Nearly as straightforward and fun as Connections in the New York Times, this session is designed to accelerate your data, analytics, and A! connections’ success. See you there.
