My 2025 Predictions

My 2025 Predictions

- by Samir Sharma, Expert in Data Analytics & BI

2025 will definitely be different! We just need to stop pretending we’re tech geniuses and start getting real. So, here it is, what’s out, what’s in, and what’ll make you rethink giving Dave from Sales access to anything.

What’s OUT in 2025

❌AI Hypebeasts: Yeah so AI is gonna fix your business and cure world hunger? AI can barely recommend a decent Netflix show without making you question your life choices.

❌Data Mesh Mania: You thought breaking silos would solve all your problems? Now you’ve got a thousand tiny data silos all fighting like rival school kids. You didn’t solve the problem, you just made them moan more and they just got more annoying.

❌Data Democratisation Delusion: I’m all for everyone getting a shot, but giving Dave in Sales access to data is like handing your toddler the keys to your car. It’s not gonna end well for anyone.

❌PowerPoint Strategies: 350 page slide decks? I see that’s how you torture people without breaking the Geneva Convention. Nobody cares. Get to the point.

❌AI “Centers of Excellence”: Sounds important, doesn’t it? But we all know it’s just a fancy name for a meeting room where ideas go to die.

What’s IN in 2025

✅Use-Case First Therapy: You know what 2025 is about? Fixing real problems. Start with something broken, like your processes, not your ego, and go from there.

✅ Data Diets: Stop hoarding all that useless data like it’s Pokémon cards. If it doesn’t make you money or save you money, toss it faster than yesterday’s dodgy kebab.

✅ Operating Models with Swagger: Your data strategy doesn’t need to be boring. Think less “boardroom suit” and more “James Bond in a tuxedo, martini in hand, ready to save the day.”

✅ Spaghetti-Free Data: You call this a data architecture? This is just spaghetti on a plate with extra sauce. Untangle that mess before the whole thing collapses.

✅ AI That Pays Rent: If your AI isn’t bringing in value, it’s not a tool, it’s a freeloader. Kick it out and tell it to get a job.

✅ “Keep it Real” Metrics: Nobody wants to see your fluffy KPIs anymore. If it doesn’t help you make money or stop wasting it, keep it out of my face.

✅ The Rise of the Data “Fixer”: Every org needs one. Someone who walks in like, “Alright, what’s broken, who broke it, and how do I fix it before I lose my mind?” Be that person.

My 2025 Quote

“Your data and AI strategy doesn’t need to be complicated, it needs to work. Make money, save money, and stop giving the board reasons to question your existence.”
