Zynga Moves into Mobile, with Help from Adobe Air

Zzynga Gets Mobile With Adobe Air

Zzynga Gets Mobile With Adobe AirZynga announced on November 15, 2012 that Ruby Blast has come to mobile. Available on iOS devices, this is the first Zynga Arcade game playable on mobile platforms.

According to Mike Thompson at Inside Social Games, Ruby Blast’s move into mobile was greatly accelerated by Adobe’s software development suite, especially Adobe Air. A major advantage for the development team was the ability to use the same workflow for both web and mobile versions of the game, meaning they didn’t have to be rebuilt for the new platform.

He also believes that the success of Ruby Blast thus far is a “feather in Adobe’s cap,” in addition to the over 25,000 AIR developed apps across mobile markets like Apple’s AppStore, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore.

Also of note for Zynga’s bottom line, Mike says that industry insiders believe that cross-platform games tend to monetize three times as much as their facebook counterparts.
