Data as a Service (DaaS) software provider, Actifio, recently announced that it has expanded its partnership with IBM. This includes a new cyber resilience feature, which is available now through close integration with IBM Resiliency Orchestration software. Cyber Incident Recovery, the new feature from IBM, combines its own storage capabilities, disaster recovery automation, and reporting platforms with Actifio’s Copy Data Management (CDM) technology. This combination assists businesses in recovering data, restoring application services, and resuming daily business operations in the event of a disruptive cyber attack.
General manager of IBM Business Resiliency Services, Andrea Sayles stated, “these new cyber recovery capabilities put IBM at the forefront of addressing our clients’ critical challenge of maintaining continuous business operations in the event of cyber attacks and protecting their business reputations. It also demonstrates that IBM continues to lead the way in developing innovative solutions that help our clients more quickly respond to and recover from attacks.”
The integration of Actifio and IBM’s technology signifies a new stage of the partnership between the two vendors. Businesses in industries such as healthcare or financial services will now be able to determine and evaluate possible risks, as well as recovery from attacks more quickly.
Founder and CEO of Actifio, Ash Ashutosh, also made a statement, saying, “IBM is the recognized leader in the category of cyber resilience, building on their heritage of helping global companies recover their business-critical applications. Actifio is truly excited to announce solutions that comply with IBM’s Cyber Incident Recovery reference architecture and look forward to adding value to enterprises worldwide.”
Cyber Incident Recovery for Data and Cyber Incident Recovery for Platform Configuration are new features offered in the 7.3 version of IBM Resiliency Orchestration, which simplifies and orchestrates disaster recovery processes and workflows. This capability is available internationally as an IBM Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) managed service and standalone software product.
