AutoRek’s RegToolKit Maps Rulebooks To Controls So Compliance Teams Can Finally Retire Spreadsheet Trackers
AutoRek has launched RegToolKit, a compliance platform that loads regulatory rulebooks on a recurring basis and maps specific obligations to business risks, legal entities, products, and mitigating controls. The system provides an applicability matrix for oversight across regimes, plus an integrated breach register to log issues, assign owners, and track remediation activities through completion. By unifying regulatory content, risk mappings, and breach management in one platform, AutoRek aims to simplify audits and reduce manual, spreadsheet-based compliance tracking.

CTERA’s Fusion Data Fabric Blurs File–Object Lines For AI-Hungry Workloads
CTERA’s new Fusion suite creates a unified data fabric where files and objects coexist in a single global namespace, letting data be written as files and read as objects—or vice versa—without translation gateways. Enterprise apps can keep using SMB/NFS, while AI training clusters and cloud-native services access the same datasets via S3 and high-throughput S3 over RDMA, reducing bottlenecks and eliminating proprietary chunking. Existing object buckets can be onboarded directly, helping organizations activate distributed datasets for AI across edge and multi-cloud environments without migrations or lock-in.
Kai Exits Stealth With $125M And A Vision For Machine-Speed, Agentic Cyber Defense
Kai has emerged from stealth with $125M in funding to build an “agentic AI” platform that continuously contextualizes, evaluates, reasons, and executes security tasks at machine speed across threat intel, exposure management, detection, and response. The platform is designed to replace fragmented security tools and manual, human-speed workflows with a cohesive system that autonomously handles end-to-end defense while keeping human operators in a supervisory role. Kai’s founders, veterans of prior category-defining security companies, ultimately want their platform to become an AI operating system that unifies IT and OT security functions and eliminates siloed, category-based defenses.

Opsera’s AppSec AI Agents Aim To Make AI-SDLC Secure By Default
Opsera has introduced AppSec AI Agents for AI Builders, a suite of autonomous agents embedded in its Agentic DevOps platform that secure AI-generated code and enforce compliance from the first commit. The initial set includes an Architecture Analyzer, Compliance Auditor, Security Scanner, and SQL Scanner that validate design, automate evidence collection for frameworks like SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and GDPR, and find and remediate vulnerabilities and injection risks in AI-authored code. Opsera frames the release as a first step towards a full AI-SDLC, where coordinated agents orchestrate security, architecture, and CI/CD workflows instead of relying on manual gates.

Quest: Most Orgs Aren’t Testing Identity Disaster Recovery Nearly Often Enough
Quest Software’s State of ITDR survey of 650 IT and security leaders finds that only 24% of organizations test identity disaster recovery plans every six months as recommended, while another 24% never test them at all. Even as AI-driven attacks expand the identity threat surface, 51% say non-human identities are hardest to secure, followed by third-party/partner accounts, service accounts, and legacy systems. While 79% believe AI tools could improve ITDR effectiveness, Quest warns that many organizations still lack visibility into hybrid identity landscapes and are unprepared to rapidly restore Active Directory and Entra ID after an attack.

But by the end of 2026, there will be far fewer neoclouds than there were at the start.
Contributor Series: Where the Leverage Lives in Modern Security Operations
Proactive security is having a moment, rightfully so. Organizations have built impressive security stacks, each tool serving controls for a specific domain: endpoint protection, identity management, cloud security, vulnerability scanning, and network monitoring. These investments are working. The coverage is broad, the telemetry is rich, and the compensating controls are doing their jobs. But here’s the catch: exposures don’t respect domain boundaries.
