Amazon Announces EC2 Capacity Blocks for Machine Learning Workloads
This is an innovative new way to schedule GPU instances where you can reserve the number of instances you need for a future date for just the amount of time you require. EC2 Capacity Blocks are currently available for Amazon EC2 P5 instances powered by NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs in the AWS US East (Ohio) Region.
Backblaze Announces Upload Speeds Faster Than AWS S3
All B2 Cloud Storage customers will benefit from these performance enhancements, especially those who use Backblaze B2 as a storage destination for data protection software. Small uploads of 1MB or less make up about 70 percent of all uploads to B2 Cloud Storage and are common for backup and archive workflows.
CloudCasa by Catalogic Drops New BaaS Platform as Self-Hosted Option

New IDC Study Says Data Management Workloads Responsible for Majority of Compute Spending
Workloads spending profiles vary among product categories. For ODM Direct the highest spending in 1H23 was concentrated on Digital Services with $2.6 billion representing 11.7% of ODM spending. In comparison, OEM Servers and OEM Storage spending is led by Structured Databases/Data Management.
