Google Unifies Data Studio Brand Under Unified Looker Platform
Looker is the name we will all hear when Google talks about its cloud business intelligence products. The announcement brings together Google Data Studio and core Google technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning, into Looker. The “platform” product is now called Google Looker Studio.
Microsoft Releases Cross-Tenant Power BI Dataset Sharing
This allows customers to share their Power BI datasets with external users (consumers) in a way that allows these external users to access the datasets in their own Power BI tenant. They can then work with these shared datasets in their own tenant and create composite models by meshing the shared datasets with their own internal data. The composite model can then be published on the service for reporting purposes.

Qlik Secures FedRAMP Authorization for Cloud Analytics Product
One of the first SaaS (Software as a Service) platforms to achieve FedRAMP designation, Qlik Cloud Government is now listed in the FedRAMP Marketplace under authorized products. FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and monitoring of cloud products and services for the U.S. public sector.
Redbird.io Raises $7.6 Million in Venture Capital for Reporting and Analytics
The latest platform version introduces a private preview of its Domino Nexus hybrid and multi-cloud capabilities, plus an expanded suite of connectors to simplify and democratize access to critical data sources, and new GPU inference capabilities that make it easier to productionize high-value data science projects, including deep learning.
Stanford Unveils New Data Science Major
School of Humanities and Sciences spokesperson Joy Leighton wrote in a statement that compared to peer institutions with data science programs, Stanford’s program is unique.
