TIBCO Software recently unveiled the latest edition of its embedded analytics platform, TIBCO Jaspersoft. Now in its seventh iteration, Jaspersoft 7 features a streamlined workflow that allows users to design interactive data visuals by integrating them into web and mobile applications. The tool also morphs its ad hoc data visualization viewer into an immersive BI component so individual visuals can be embedded into applications and integrated in an attempt to blend them with the user experience.
Jaspersoft 7 will be supported on two of the company’s other flagship analytics products, including TIBCO Spotfire and TIBCO Data Virtualization. The support will enable users to utilize data from Spotfire to create reports, dashboards, and visualizations within Jaspersoft. TIBCO Data Virtualization is a newly certified data source that allows for virtualizing data across enterprise systems so it can be accessed with either Spotfire or Jaspersoft.
In a statement to the press, the company’s Head of Product Management Tom Tortolani said: “We saw an opportunity to create embeddable business intelligence components for developers, the ones who build modern web applications that seamlessly integrate data in a visual way, and most importantly, do it in the perfect context for users to take action. We continue to add more open, plug-and-play building block components with every release.”
TIBCO offers what is perhaps the most feature-rich BI and analytics portfolio in the space. In addition the traditional BI functionality offered in Jaspersoft, Spotfire provides expert users with the capabilities they need to run complex analysis. TIBCO acquired Cisco’s data virtualization unit (formerly Composite Software) in October, and the company is an emerging player in what is becoming a highly competitive marketplace.
